This September, CARR was proud to exhibit at the Foodtech Packtech Show, held at the Auckland Showgrounds from the 2nd to the 4th of September 2025. It had been some time since our last appearance at this event, and we were excited to return with an impressive show piece and an inspiring story to share.
Over the past eight months, our team has been deeply involved in an innovative project: converting a gas-heated coffee roaster to operate on electric power. To further enhance efficiency, we also integrated a heat exchanger to demonstrate how waste heat can be reclaimed and reused within the process.
This project was a collaborative effort between CARR New Zealand, Leister International AG, John Gordan of Silverback Coffee Solutions, and Glenside Engineering. Together, we brought to life a practical example of how technology and sustainability can work hand in hand to improve process heat applications.
We were pleased to have Clinton Van Zyl from Leister Singapore join us for two days of the show, supporting our Sales Manager, Matthew Allan with his extensive technical expertise. Our Customer Support Manager, Mark Hiscocks, also attended to engage with visitors and discuss the wide range of Leister heaters and blowers available for various industrial heating needs.
The response to our electric coffee roaster demonstration was overwhelmingly positive. Visitors were particularly interested in the potential to convert existing gas systems to electric heating, offering cost savings, along with environmental and operational advantages.
Beyond the roaster, the show provided an excellent platform to introduce many attendees to Leister’s full range of heaters and blowers, reinforcing our position as a leader in process heat solutions.
Overall, the 2025 Foodtech Packtech Show was a great success for CARR. We were proud to showcase our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and collaboration—and we look forward to building on the valuable connections made during the event.
